Overview

Ballarat Health Services – Women’s & Children’s Services provides a continuum of care for women, children and their families encompassing pregnancy, birthing, early parenting and childhood from the neonatal to adolescent years. These services are provided by our Maternity and Paediatric & Adolescent Units.

Client-centered, best-practice service provision is facilitated by actively engaging consumers in planning and decision making, fostering partnerships with community groups and stakeholders, and providing evidence based resources.

The Maternity Unit is comprised of:


  • 5 Birthing rooms
  • 20  In-patient beds, including 2 with private patient facilities
  • Level 2 High Dependency Special Care Nursery which 8 Cot capacity
  • 9 Antenatal clinic rooms
  • 1 Ultrasound room
  • 1 Education room.
